How to repair the gap between the freezer seal and the cabinet?

Generally, if a freezer is used for more than two years, the magnetic sealing strip on the door may develop gaps with the cabinet, causing cold air to leak out, reducing cooling efficiency and increasing power consumption. If this phenomenon occurs and there are no professionals available for repair, the "cotton filling method" can be cleverly used for repair.

The specific method is: first, place a lit flashlight inside the freezer, close the door, and carefully observe the sealing ring around the door for any light leaks. If there are any, clean the magnetic sealing ring with laundry detergent, pull apart the leaking magnetic sealing ring, and fill the light-leaking area with some clean cotton. The amount of cotton depends on the extent of the light leak, aiming for a tight seal that does not let light through.

Finally, check again with the flashlight. If there are still light leaks, you can repeat the same method until there are no more light leaks. After this treatment, the freezer's insulation effect will be greatly enhanced, and power consumption will significantly decrease.
